Premium Perks
Throughout this documentation you'll find notes about Premium-locked features. They are unlocked by subscribing to Base or Power from your server's dashboard, and they help cover the hosting and development costs of the bot and its infrastructure.
Premium belongs to a server, not to a person. One subscription covers one Discord server at a time, and everyone in that server benefits from it. Your own account gets nothing extra in servers that are not covered.
Note
Premium purchases - subscriptions and gift codes alike - are currently available for GiselleBot only. If you are reading this in another bot's documentation, its Subscribe and gift pages will tell you that they are not available yet, and premium on that bot is granted by its admins instead. Everything below describes how it works where purchasing is available.
Tiers and prices
| Tier | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|
| Base | $5/mo | $50/yr (2 months free) |
| Power | $10/mo | $100/yr (2 months free) |
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax. The yearly price is ten times the monthly price, which is where the "2 months free" label on the Subscribe page comes from. Power includes everything Base includes and raises a few limits further - it is a higher rung on the same ladder, not a separate product.
A subscription renews automatically (every month, or every year on the yearly plan) until you cancel it.
Tiers and perks

| Users, Server and Voice loggers, entity-ignore, invite tracking (details) | No | Yes | Yes |
| Forms Builder published-form cap (details) | 3 | 10 | 20 |
| Raid Rooms, simultaneous active rooms (details) | 3 | 10 | 20 |
| Greet/goodbye message send-delay (details) | up to 5 minutes | up to 15 minutes | up to 15 minutes |
| Verification's additional custom message (details) | No | Yes | Yes |
| Repeating messages (details) | 3 | 10 | 30 |
| Clock channels (details) | 1 channel, 30-min updates | 1 channel, 30-min updates | up to 3 channels, 10-min updates |
| Scheduled messages, active entries (details) | 5 | 10 | 25 |
| Scheduled messages, how far ahead you can schedule (details) | 1 hour | 1 week | 1 month |
| Trivia caps for Elevated users (details) | 20 questions, 6h interval | 30 questions, 7d interval | 30 questions, 7d interval |
| Trivia exports and templates (details) | No | No | /trivia export and /trivia template |
| /send message file attachments (details) | images, 3 MiB per file | + video, text, PDF; 10 MiB per file | + audio, Office docs, archives; 25 MiB per file |
| Currency earn-rate boost | none | +7% | +12% |
Three notes on that table:
- The Trivia caps apply to Elevated users only, meaning a user who holds both Manage Messages and Manage Roles in the server. A user without both stays at 10 questions and a 3-minute interval even on a Premium server, and the "interval" is the time allowed between questions, not the length of a game.
- The currency boost raises currency only. There is no XP or level boost on any tier.
/send messageattachments (and the same attachments on the dashboard's Message Composer) get more file types and bigger files at each tier (both the size per file and the total per message). The table gives the headline; the exact extensions and size caps per tier are on the/sendpage.

Subscribing
Premium is entirely self-service, right from your server's dashboard:
- Log into the dashboard with Discord and open the Subscribe page.
- Pick a tier (Base or Power) and a billing interval (Monthly, or Yearly (2 months free)).
- Pick the server you want premium on, in the picker on that same page. This step is optional but strongly recommended: if you pick one, the subscription is linked to it automatically the moment your payment goes through, and the perks switch on within seconds with nothing else to do. The button says which it will be - Subscribe for
<server>, or Subscribe (choose a server later). - Complete checkout on Stripe's secure payment page.
- If you skipped step 3, open My Subscriptions from your dashboard home and use Link to a server. Until you do, the subscription grants perks nowhere.
The picker lists only servers you manage, and a server the bot has not joined yet is marked (bot not in this server) and cannot be used - invite the bot there first. See Choosing a server for the full rules, which are the same everywhere a server is chosen: buying a subscription, moving one, and redeeming a gift code.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Card details never reach the bot or its dashboard; all that is stored on our side is your Discord user ID and a Stripe customer ID, so a subscription can be matched to your account.
Free trials
Free trials are not always on offer. When they are, the Subscribe page shows the rules right above the Subscribe button; if it says nothing about a trial, there isn't one at the moment. This section is the only place these terms are written down in full.
When a trial is being offered:
- A free trial (length set by the bot's admins, shown on the Subscribe page when a trial is on offer) is available on your first subscription only. If you have subscribed before, even if that subscription ended long ago, later subscriptions start billing immediately.
- One trial per server, as well as one per account. If the server you pick has already had a trial - even from somebody else's subscription - billing starts right away.
- A payment method is required up front, and billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
- While a subscription is in its trial it stays on the server it was linked to. It cannot be moved until the trial ends, and the lock then lifts on its own.
If a trial cannot be honoured, you are charged from day one instead and My Subscriptions says which of the two limits applied ("Your account had already used its free trial" or "This server had already used its free trial"), so a charge on day one is never a mystery. The same applies if you link a trialing subscription to a server that has already used its trial: the link goes through, the trial does not, and billing starts immediately.
Perks are fully active during a trial - a trialing subscription is treated exactly like an active one.
Choosing a server
One subscription covers one server at a time. The server is chosen on the Subscribe page before paying, or afterwards on My Subscriptions with Link to a server. Once a server is linked, that same button reads Move to a different server.
Two things are required of any server you pick, and both are checked at the moment you pick it:
- You must have Manage Server or Administrator there. The permission is verified live against Discord, so a permission you lost since logging in will not work even if the server is still shown in the list.
- The bot must already be in the server. Premium raises limits for a bot that is in your server, so a server the bot has never joined is refused with "This bot isn't in that server yet - invite it to the server first, then try again." Invite the bot there, then come back.
Moving a subscription. The dashboard asks you to confirm a move, because both halves of it are immediate and neither can be undone:
- the old server loses its perks immediately, not at the end of the month;
- the new server gains them immediately;
- and you then have to wait 72 hours before moving again.
That 72-hour wait is tied to your account, not to one subscription. Canceling and resubscribing does not reset it, and if you hold several subscriptions, moving any one of them starts the wait for all of them. If you try too soon, the dashboard tells you the date you can next move. A first link is free of this - only a move starts the wait.
If you want two servers covered at the same time, that is two subscriptions, or a gift code redeemed on the second server.
Subscription states
Every subscription on My Subscriptions shows one of these states.
| State | Perks on the linked server? | What it means, and what to do |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | Yes | A free trial is running. It starts billing automatically when it ends, unless you cancel first. |
| Active | Yes | Everything is normal. The card shows the next renewal date. |
| Set to cancel | Yes, until the period ends | Shown as "Cancels <date>" on an active subscription. You canceled from the billing portal; the perks stay on until the end of the period you have already paid for, then stop. |
| Past due | Yes, for 7 days | A payment failed. Perks are deliberately left on for 7 days after the failed payment, so one declined card does not take a server's features away while Stripe retries. Update your card from Manage billing. After those 7 days the perks pause until a payment succeeds. |
| Unpaid | No | Retries are over and the subscription has lapsed. Use Reactivate on My Subscriptions to pay the outstanding invoice on a secure Stripe page; it brings the same subscription back rather than starting a new one. |
| Canceled | No | The subscription has ended. To get the perks back, subscribe again. |
How quickly changes show up. Linking, moving and redeeming apply within seconds - the perks are recalculated before the page finishes saving. Reactivating is a payment, so it lands once Stripe confirms it. Anything else driven from Stripe's side (a renewal, a failed payment, a cancellation taking effect) can take up to about 20 minutes to be reflected, because the system re-checks itself on a regular cycle as a safety net.
Managing and canceling
My Subscriptions lists everything tied to your Discord account. Manage billing hands you off to Stripe's own Customer Portal, which is where you can:
- update the card on file;
- view and download invoices and receipts;
- switch plans between the four options (Base or Power, monthly or yearly);
- cancel, which always takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for - never mid-period.
Switching plans settles immediately, in both directions: moving up charges you the difference straight away, and moving down credits the unused part of what you already paid against your future invoices. The server's perks follow the new plan immediately too, so a Power-to-Base switch drops the server to Base limits right away rather than at the next renewal. There is no refund button in the portal; a refund is always something the bot's team does by hand (see Refunds and disputes).
Canceling does not delete anything you configured. Entries over the free limit are disabled rather than removed, so they come back if you subscribe again.
Warning
Premium bought with a gift code, or granted by the bot's team, does not appear on My Subscriptions - it belongs to the server rather than to your account, so there is nothing there to manage or cancel.
Payment problems
A failed payment does not take the server's perks away at once. The subscription goes Past due and keeps its perks for 7 days from the failed payment while Stripe retries the charge; updating the card from Manage billing during that window resolves it with no interruption at all.
If the retries do not succeed, the subscription goes Unpaid and the perks stop. My Subscriptions then shows a Reactivate button, which opens a secure Stripe-hosted invoice page in a new tab. Paying it revives the same subscription, with the same linked server, rather than starting a new one - there is no need to subscribe from scratch.
Gifting premium
To unlock premium on a server without setting up a recurring subscription, or to give it to somebody else's server, buy a gift instead.
A gift is a one-time purchase of a fixed number of months. It never renews and you are never charged again; when the months run out, premium simply ends on that server unless it is renewed some other way.
| Duration | Base | Power |
|---|---|---|
| 1 month | $5 | $10 |
| 3 months | $15 | $30 |
| 6 months | $30 | $60 |
| 12 months | $60 | $120 |
Gift pricing is strictly per month: a 12-month gift costs twelve times the monthly price. The yearly discount on the subscription plans above does not apply to gifts, because a gift does not renew.
To buy one:
- On the Subscribe page, under Gift Premium, pick a tier and a duration, then Buy gift.
- Complete checkout on Stripe's secure payment page.
- Your gift code then appears under Your gift codes on that same page. Share it with whoever you are gifting to, or redeem it yourself. That list also shows whether each code is still unredeemed, and when it was redeemed, but never who redeemed it.
To redeem one: open the Subscribe page's Redeem a gift code section, enter the code, pick the server, and confirm. The server has to be one you manage and one the bot is already in, exactly as for a subscription. Premium activates right away, and the dashboard tells you the date the months run through. A code can only be redeemed once, and there is no way to move a redeemed gift to another server afterwards, which is why the page asks you to confirm first.
How a gift combines with premium the server already has:
- Another gift, or perks granted by the bot's team, at the same tier or higher: your months are added on to the end of that coverage, so nothing is lost.
- A lower-tier subscription or grant, redeeming a higher-tier gift (for example a Power gift onto a server with Base): the months start right away, because the gift upgrades the server immediately.
- An active subscription at the same tier or higher: the redemption is refused and your code is not used, because the months would simply run alongside the subscription and be wasted. Redeem it on another server, or once that subscription ends.
- Permanent premium granted by the bot's team at that tier or higher: also refused, and again your code is not used. Use it on a different server.
Refunded or disputed gifts. If a gift purchase is refunded or charged back while its code is still unredeemed, the code is voided: it shows as Refunded under Your gift codes and can no longer be redeemed. If the code had already been redeemed, a chargeback removes the premium it granted from that server immediately, while a refund is reviewed by the bot's team first.
Refunds and disputes
To ask for a refund, open a ticket in the support server. Refunds are handled case by case and reviewed by a human; asking for one does not automatically switch the server's perks off.
Please do not raise a dispute or chargeback with your bank instead. A dispute suspends the server's perks immediately and automatically, which is a worse outcome for you than a refund request, and it has to be reversed by hand afterwards if the dispute turns out to be a mistake.
Errors you might see
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| "This bot isn't in that server yet - invite it to the server first, then try again." | The bot has never joined that server. Invite it, then retry. Nothing was charged. |
| "You need the Manage Server permission on that server..." or "You do not have permission to manage this guild" | You are not an admin of that server. Pick a different one, or ask an admin there to grant the permission. Nothing was charged. |
| "The bot can't be reached right now, so that server can't be verified." | A temporary problem on our side, not with your payment. Nothing was charged or changed; try again in a moment. |
"You can move a subscription again after <date>" | The 72-hour move limit. It applies to your whole account, not to each subscription separately. See Choosing a server. |
| "A subscription in its free trial stays on its first server..." | A trialing subscription cannot be moved. The lock lifts by itself when the trial converts; there is nothing to retry. |
| "This server had already used its free trial" | Every server gets at most one trial, whoever pays for it. Billing on that subscription started on day one. See Free trials. |
| "Your account had already used its free trial" | Trials are once per Discord account, ever. Billing started on day one. |
| "That gift code has already been redeemed" | The code was used, by you or by whoever you shared it with. A code works exactly once. |
| "This code was cancelled because the purchase behind it was refunded or reversed." | The purchase behind the code was reversed, so the code no longer works. It shows as Refunded under Your gift codes. If you bought it and believe this is wrong, contact support. |
| "That gift code does not exist - check for a typo and try again" | Nothing matched that code. Check for a mistyped character; the code's dashes are added for you. |
| "That server already has permanent premium at this tier or higher" | That server has been given permanent premium by the bot's team, so the gift would add nothing. Your code was not used - redeem it elsewhere. |
"That server already has an active <tier> subscription, so your code was not used." | The server is already covered at that tier or higher by an active subscription, so the gift's months would run alongside it and be lost. Your code was not used - redeem it on another server, or once that subscription ends. |
| "Guild link state changed - please retry" | Something else changed the same subscription while you were linking it. Refresh the page and try once more. |
If you hit an error not listed here, or one that keeps coming back, bring it to the support server with your Discord user ID and the server's ID.
Frequently asked questions
I paid but my server has no perks
Open My Subscriptions and check two things:
- Is a server linked? A subscription bought without picking a server up front is attached to nothing until you link it. If the card says "Not linked to a server yet", pick one now.
- What state is it in? Only Trial, Active, Set to cancel and Past due grant perks - see Subscription states.
If a server is linked and the state is one of those four, give it about 20 minutes: the system re-checks itself on a cycle and corrects any drift. If it is still wrong after that, contact support with your Discord user ID and the server ID, and please do not buy a second subscription.
How do I move my subscription to a different server?
On My Subscriptions, pick the new server and press Move to a different server. The old server loses its perks immediately, the new one gains them immediately, and you then have to wait 72 hours before moving again - a wait that is tied to your account, not to that one subscription. See Choosing a server.
What happens when I cancel?
Nothing immediately. Canceling from the billing portal sets the subscription to stop at the end of the period you have already paid for, and the server keeps every perk until then. When the period ends, the subscription stops, the perks switch off, and you are not charged again. If you change your mind before it takes effect, open Manage billing again and see whether the portal offers to keep the subscription running; if it does not, ask in the support server before the period ends.
Nothing you configured is deleted. Entries over the free limit are disabled rather than removed, so they come back if you subscribe again.
Can I get a refund?
Ask in the support server. Refunds are handled case by case and reviewed by a human, and asking for one does not automatically remove the server's perks. Please do not raise a dispute with your bank instead - see Refunds and disputes for why that is worse for you.
Who can redeem a gift code?
Anyone you give it to. They do not need to be the person who bought it, and they do not need a subscription of their own. What they do need is Manage Server or Administrator on the server they are activating it for, and the bot has to be in that server already. The buyer can see from Your gift codes whether a code has been redeemed and when, but not who redeemed it.
Can I redeem a gift code on a server that already has premium?
It depends on where that premium comes from - the four cases are listed under Gifting premium. In short: it stacks on top of another gift or of perks granted by the bot's team, it upgrades a server covered at a lower tier, and it is refused (without using up the code) on a server that already has an active subscription or permanent premium at that tier or higher.
The server I want isn't in the list, or won't work
Three possible reasons:
- The bot is not in that server. Those servers are marked "(bot not in this server)" and cannot be picked - invite the bot first.
- You don't have Manage Server or Administrator there. The list only shows servers you can manage.
- Your permissions changed after you logged in. The check is made live against Discord, so a permission you lost since logging in will not work even if the server is still shown. Log out of the dashboard and back in.
Does Premium apply to me, or to my server?
To the server. Every perk on this page raises a limit or unlocks a feature for one Discord server, and every member of that server benefits. Your own account gets nothing extra in servers that are not covered.
Can one subscription cover two servers?
No. One subscription covers one server at a time. For two servers, buy a second subscription or redeem a gift code on the second one.
Do I need to keep paying for a gift?
No. A gift is a one-time purchase of a fixed number of months. It never renews and you are never charged again. When the months run out, premium simply ends on that server unless it is renewed some other way.
What's the difference between Base and Power?
Power includes everything Base includes and raises a few limits further. The exact differences are in the table above: raid rooms, repeating messages, clock channels, the scheduling horizon, /send attachment types and sizes, and the currency boost all go further on Power, and /trivia export plus the /trivia template command set are Power-only. Everything else is identical on both tiers.
I changed my mind about the tier or the billing interval
Use Manage billing on My Subscriptions to open the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can switch between Base and Power and between monthly and yearly. The change settles immediately: moving up charges the difference straight away, moving down credits the unused part of what you already paid against your future invoices.
Where do I get help?
Join the Support Server. Bring your Discord user ID and the server's ID - both make the answer much faster.
